About Jim & Sherry

Jim and Sherry Sabella and their sons Philip and Jonathan were appointed as missionaries to the Czech Republic in 1994. Before that time they were Assemblies of God pastors in both New York and Pennsylvania.

They served in the Czech Republic until 2004 at which time they were appointed as Assemblies of God World Missions Area Directors to the 7 countries of Central Europe. These countries include: Austria, The Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Poland, Slovakia and Switzerland.

In 2017 Jim and Sherry became Area Director for the newly formed Southeast Europe. The new area consists of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.

In their ministry as Area Directors Jim & Sherry are responsible for organizing and directing the Assemblies of God World Missions program in Southeast Europe. They Work directly with the Assemblies of God missionaries who are living and ministering in Southeast Europe. They also work directly with the national Pentecostal church leaders in those countries. 

Jim says: “Though Europe has seen dramatic changes in the last 10 years, one thing remain the same: Europe remains one of the unreached continents in the world.”

Along with their duties as Area Directors, Jim & Sherry are also the founding directors of Europe’s Heart. Europe’s Heart is a  ministry that focuses on those who live on the margins of society in the eastern parts of Europe. For the last five years Europe’s Heart has been serving the Roma communities of the eastern part of Slovakia.
